Abstract

It is common sense that mining activities, as well as civil construction, need more sustainable actions. This includes new strategies for using your solid wastes. Thus, this work used nepheline waste as an aggregate to replace the natural (35%, 70% and 100%) in settlement mortars. The aggregates were analyzed in relation to the main Brazilian normative physical parameters and chemically by FRX test. The mortars were analyzed for consistency, densities, tensile strength in bending and compression. The results indicated a technical feasibility for using nepheline waste to replace natural sand.
