Resistência à compressão e absorção de blocos de solo-cimento com resíduos de PET

A incorporação de resíduos na construção civil é uma alternativa promissora para reduzir impactos ambientais e promover a economia circular. Neste estudo, avaliou-se o efeito da adição de PET reciclado (0,5%, 1,0% e 1,5% em volume) nas propriedades mecânicas e físicas de blocos de solo-cimento. Foram analisadas a resistência à compressão e a absorção de água. Os resultados mostraram que a incorporação de 1,0% e 1,5% de PET aumentou moderadamente a resistência à compressão, devido à sua capacidade de restringir a propagação de fissuras. Além disso, observou-se uma redução significativa na absorção de água, associada à natureza hidrofóbica do PET, que melhora a compactação da matriz. No entanto, teores elevados podem comprometer a uniformidade do material. Os resultados indicam que o uso de PET reciclado pode ser uma alternativa sustentável para a produção de blocos de solo-cimento, contribuindo para a reutilização de resíduos plásticos na construção civil.
