EXPERIÊNCIAS HABITACIONAIS COM SISTEMA DE PRÉFABRICAÇÃO EM TAIPA: OS CASOS DE CAJUEIRO SECO-PE E JOÃO CÂMARA-RN

Construction technologies focused on the production of more sustainable social housing are in high demand due to the growing population of cities around the world and the commitment to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The wattle and daub technique is widely used in Brazil, since accessible housing is limited and many families choose to self-build with available local material. However, these constructions are built based on knowledge transmitted by generations and are generally poorly conceived from a technical point of view, compromising their quality and life expectancy. Two housing experiences that took place in Brazil in the 1960s and 1980s used the wattle and daub technique using prefabricated and modular wood panels. This study aims to bring information about the two experiences as a way to disseminate the use of earth technology in a more effective and rational way, contributing to the discussion of earth construction as a sustainable and viable system for low-income populations and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production and life on land.
