Analytical considerations on the flow of production crews and implications for Line of Balance scheduling

The use of Lines of Balance has been constantly associated to Location Based Planning, it has been known as a useful tool for visually displaying the crews flowing through locations. However, there is a lack of analytical studies about line of balance scheduling and its implications on the workflow of the crews. This study aims to analyse the effect of a group of variables associated to lines of balance scheduling and their impacts on the flow of the work crews. To achieve that, a case study was followed in an iterative sequence to describe the main analytical considerations regarding Lines of Balance and the impacts on the flow of production crews.
