Resíduos de polímeros reforçados com fibras (FRP) na construção civil: sustentabilidade, estratégias e desafios

Os polímeros reforçados com fibras (FRP) são amplamente utilizados na indústria devido às suas propriedades mecânicas superiores e alta durabilidade. No entanto, o descarte inadequado desses materiais representa um desafio ambiental significativo, uma vez que a maioria dos resíduos ainda é destinada a aterros ou incinerada. Este estudo investiga alternativas sustentáveis para o reaproveitamento de resíduos de FRP na construção civil, considerando desempenho técnico, impacto ambiental e viabilidade econômica. A metodologia baseou-se em uma revisão integrativa da literatura, analisando diferentes técnicas de reciclagem, incluindo processos mecânicos, térmicos, químicos e eletroquímicos. Os resultados indicam que a reciclagem mecânica é a mais acessível, enquanto a térmica e a química permitem a recuperação de fibras de maior qualidade. Além disso, FRP reciclados podem ser aplicados em concretos, pavimentos e isolamentos. Conclui-se que estratégias combinadas e políticas públicas são essenciais para viabilizar soluções sustentáveis no setor da construção civil.
