Fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP) are widely used in industry due to their superior mechanical properties and high durability. However, the improper disposal of these materials represents a significant environmental challenge, since most of the waste is still destined for landfills or incinerated. This study investigates sustainable alternatives for the reuse of FRP waste in civil construction, considering technical performance, environmental impact and economic viability. The methodology was based on an integrative literature review, analyzing different recycling techniques, including mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrochemical processes. The results indicate that mechanical recycling is the most accessible, while thermal and chemical recycling allow for the recovery of higher quality fibers. In addition, recycled FRP can be used in concrete, flooring and insulation. It is concluded that combined strategies and public policies are essential to enable sustainable solutions in the construction sector.
