Abstract

The construction sector is of fundamental importance for the development of any country, directly influencing its socioeconomic aspect. However, more recently, there is a preoccupation in the world scenario about the quantity and destination of waste generated by this sector, including those from the concrete demolition. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the effect of the use of AGRC (recycled concrete coarse aggregates) with incorporation rates of 0% and 30% and 100% in the concrete production for structural purposes, and to verify how much this factor influences their mechanical properties, seeking this way viable alternatives from the environmental and economic point of view, without compromising the concrete performance in the hardened state. For evaluation of these properties, the following tests were performed: axial compression; modulus of elasticity; diametral compression traction. It was also verified the deformations behavior of the specimens along each test, with aid of extensometers connected to them, together with a data acquisition system. The results obtained with the use of the AGRC show a great performance.
