Abstract

During planting and harvesting seasons, traffic on rural roads becomes intense, causing them to deteriorate. This work aimed to analyze the effect of using pottery ash (CO) on the basic geotechnical properties of clayey soil in the region of Guarapuava-PR. The CO was divided into three granulometric compositions (>300μm, > 150μm and ≤ 150 μm) and for each of them, mixtures were produced with soil replacement contents of 25, 50 and 75%, by mass. Geotechnical characterization, compaction and ISC tests were carried out. The addition of CO provided improvements in the geotechnical properties of the soil, especially when using a particle size of 300μm, with a 50% replacement content.
