Abstract

The effect of replacing cement by 20% marble and granite waste (MGW) in different water/cement factors (w/c) was studied, fixing the workability with the use of plasticizer additive. Mortars were made with and without plasticizer additive, evaluating the workability, compressive strength, dynamic modulus of elasticity and capillary water absorption. There was a greater influence of the waste at lower w/c ratios, refining the porous structure, due to the filer effect. The compressive strength was high at the lowest w/c ratio and there was no representative influence on the modulus of elasticity of the mortars.
