ANÁLISE DA APLICABILIDADE DO RESÍDUO DE CERÂMICA VERMELHA NA PAVIMENTAÇÃO

Abstract

The construction of highways, due to their size and the large volume of resources used, constitutes an alternative for the reuse of various wastes. Thus, this study investigates the applicability of the Red Ceramic Waste (RCV) in road pavement layers. For this purpose, the waste was crushed and subjected to physical and mechanical characterization tests, traditionally used in paving. The results prove the potential use of RCV in layers of sub-base and reinforcement of subgrade of road pavements. Therefore, its use presents technical and environmental feasibility for the construction of sustainable highways according to the current road specifications.
