Abstract

The use of industrial waste in civil construction products is an alternative to contribute to sustainable development. heavyweight concrete, commonly used for radiation shielding in nuclear power plants and hospitals, has been the subject of studies based on the use of mining waste, such as barite and magnetite. This article sought to present a systematic literature review on the influence of these tailings in cementitious matrices through the adapted ProKnow-C methodology. After analyzing the literature, it was found changing the physical properties of concrete can lead to improved durability parameters, especially when exposed to high temperatures.
