Abstract

With the evolution of cities, there is a greater generation of solid waste, which is deposited in landfills or incorrectly, in the environment. With the intention of reducing this impact and protecting the natural resources of Portland cement production, this research analyzes the partial replacement of cement by heavy ash from the combustion of Pinus Taeda in conventional concrete. For this, samples of concrete and mortar were molded, and some physical properties were determined. From the results found, it was concluded that the substitution of up to 10% by ash presents satisfactory values in relation to the reference mixture.
