Abstract

The study aims to analyze the feasibility of using construction and demolition waste generated by the Construction Techniques Laboratory at Feevale University, as a substitute for coarse aggregate to produce interlocking concrete blocks. After processing and characterization according to NBR 7211 (ABNT, 2009), experimental mixes were carried out with replacement in the contents of 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%, dry and moist. Laboratory tests for visual inspection, dimensional evaluation, compressive strength and water absorption were performed. It was concluded that the replacement of 40% content, in the dry condition, was the most adequate in order to meet the requirements of NBR 9781 (ABNT, 2013).
