Abstract

Civil construction is responsible for high greenhouse gas emissions and extraction of large volumes of natural resources. One of the alternatives to mitigate this problem is the incorporation of mining wastes in concrete and mortars. This article aims to present a review of the literature on tailings generated in the processing of niobium and the technical feasibility of its use in civil construction. The replacement of conventional materials by this residue contributes to the improvement of the properties of cementitious composites and reduces the impacts caused by civil construction.
