Abstract

Considering the search for sustainability and technical improvement, this work aims to study the influence of bamboo leaf ash (BLA) as partial replacement for Portland cement in fiber cement made by extrusion process. The fibercement specimens were prepared with different dosages, which were subjected to physical and mechanical tests. The increase in the water/binder ratio associated with the incorporation of fibers generated pores more connected in the composites, making them more susceptible to rupture and the appearance of cracks. However, the BLA high reactivity improved the mechanical performance of the matrix and the post-cracking behavior of the composites.
