Abstract

Civil construction is considered the industry that consumes more natural resources and generates more waste. One solution to reduce this process is incorporating civil construction and demolition waste (CWD) as recycled aggregate in concrete. This paper aims to analyze the carbon footprint of self-compacting concrete produced with CWD fines, which are partially substituted for the natural fine aggregate. As a result, it was shown that cement is the main material source of ambiental impact generated by the self-compatcing concrete analyzed.
