Innovation and technology bring clear benefits to civil construction, however, they also raise new challenges concerning environmental issues, which are often ignored in the process. The waste generated in the constructions is often discarded in an irregular way, becoming a problem for the cities, being necessary the search of solutions to mitigate this problem. One of the alternatives is the recycling of Construction and Demolition Waste as a form of aggregates for use in concrete artifacts. In this sense, the partnership between UFRGS and the NGO Solidariedade seeks to reuse these wastes as recycled aggregates for the production of concrete blocks. Thus, the university provides technical advice in order for the blocks to comply the regulations requirements. This paper presents the results of dimensional analysis, compressive strength and blocks absorption in relation to concrete blocks produced. The results of the tests were positive and promising both for the use of the aggregates and for commercialization of concrete blocks with a sealing function. This research becomes important since it supports the work carried out in the NGO, aiming to generate work and income, encouraging the practice of sustainable development.
