Abstract

The Brazilian construction industry is responsible for a large part of urban waste produced annually, and it is also the sector with greate the construction and demolition waste (CDW). In matter of CDW recycling, its use as an aggregate is an alternative that has been implemented since the 90’s decade presents a literature review which investigated the possibilities of Class A CDW reuse for concrete production with the aim of understanding the scope of the researches realized in the last decade Were selected articles published in journals and s presenting case studies of CDW application as concrete aggregate. The literature review presented cases in all five Brazil’s regions, which allowed us to conclude the relevant research development at a national level. However, there is still a lack of research related to the durability of the concrete using CDW as an aggregate. Finally, it may be seen that, even when CDW shows good physical properties, are economic and available in enough volume, close to dema widespread enough to mitigate the environmental impact caused by the construction industry.
