Abstract

Large consumer of natural resources, the construction industry has high generation of waste that is easily disposed of in the environment. Construction and demolition wastes (RCDs) make up an important part of the world's total solid waste production, most of which is disposed of in landfills. This work aims to develop a review about the research related to the use of construction residue and demolition in concrete. For this, the following steps will be developed: quantification of waste in Brazil and on a global scale; treatment of construction waste and demolition; forms of use in concrete; based bibliometric analysis on databases such as Scopus and Science Direct; survey of tests carried out in order to identify the properties and parameters of concrete durability that have RCD in its matrix; treatment of the results collected and a statistical analysis of these results, when possible. Thus, it is expected to obtain as a fundamental conclusion the knowledge gaps, thus indicating, fields for continuity and new research strands in the area.
