Abstract

The utilization of construction and demolition wastes (CDW) in mixtures for construction of road pavements is an alternative to reduce the consumption of natural aggregates destining correctly those substrates. Sharing of these concerns, in this research was analyzed the usage of CDW, in fractions of gravel 1 and sand, in replacement to their natural similar, in the composition of an asphalt concrete, for application in the bearing layer of flexible pavement on roads. Were produced two concrete’s mixtures (one conventional and another containing CDW), in four percentage of binder, between 4.5% and 6.0%, comparing the fisical and mechanical parameters between both. Were applied the tests of routine to the materials and to the dosages’ samples, employing the performing Marshall. The recycleds input showed less apparent density, expressively over absorption, abrasion’s test near the natural one, beyond others parameters, respecting the limits required to application on the intended destination. From reviews about the produced mixtures it was obtained satisfactory results, attesting positive the use of the recycled aggregates analyzed in the composition of asphalt concrete, resulting on the execution of an experimental highway stretch in urban area from Natal county, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, however the analyze about the stretch is not contemplated in this work.
