The disposal of red ceramic industry waste, usually in landfills, underscores the need for sustainable solutions in the construction sector. A promising alternative is its use as a Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM), provided it meets regulatory particle size requirements. In this context, this study evaluates the influence of the grinding media-to-material ratio and milling time on particle size reduction and the increase in the specific surface area of Red Ceramic Waste (RCW). For this purpose, a rotary jar mill was used, in which beneficiation and chemical and physical characterization of the material were carried out. The results demonstrate that the efficiency of the filling ratio in particle size refinement is enhanced by increasing the milling time. Specifically, samples subjected to 3 hours of milling with a 10:1 filling ratio exhibited finer particles and a larger surface area, key factors in improving RCW reactivity.
