This study investigated the potential of the dense fraction of sugarcane bagasse ash as a fine aggregate, focusing on its production and performance in 30 MPa mortar. For this purpose, a wet separation method was developed, enabling the segregation of boiler ash into dense and light fractions. Subsequently, the ash-derived sand was compared to natural quartz sand, with an assessment of the impact of controlled particle size distribution on compressive strength, water absorption, and mortar packing. The results indicated that mortars with 100% replacement of natural sand by ash sand showed the highest compressive strength values, with increases of 23% at 28 days and 41% at 120 days compared to the reference. The packing and water absorption results supported the significant improvement in mortar compressive strength.
