ABSTRACT: The design studio, one of the pioneering strategies of student-centered teaching, is widely employed in disciplines of Architectural courses. However, in the Technology disciplines, in general, teaching is still teacher-centered. Among the student-centered strategies, the one that stands out is the Problem-Based Learning (PBL), which is characterized by the use of a problem-situations related to professional practice in the teaching-learning process. This article aims to evaluate the use of PBL in a Technology discipline focused in the building systems design of the Architecture. The evaluation of the application was made through a group interview and individual questionnaires applied to students and teachers. The results indicated that problem-situations facilitated the learning process and brought the students closer to the professional practice. However, there has been an increase in the workload of both students and teachers, which may be an obstacle to their greater dissemination.
