Evaluation of the absence of a stormwater drainage system in a residential condominium in the city of São José de Ribamar - MA: a case study for economic viability

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The lack of a stormwater plumbing system can lead to various problems in the region where these buildings are located, ranging from flooding to structural damage. In this context, this study aims to analyze the absence of a stormwater drainage system in a residential condominium located in the city of São José de Ribamar, MA, named Village dos Pássaros V. The methodology used for the development of this work included data provided by the construction company about the housing units and the condominium under study, as well as field surveys involving technical visits to the site to identify the implementation of single-family residences, confirming the absence of the stormwater drainage system. To facilitate the cost estimation of the referred system, the hydraulic parameters and system components were sized according to NBR10844 (ABNT, 1989) for the implementation of the Stormwater Drainage System. Additionally, the costs of this system were analyzed in comparison with the total costs of condominium implementation, aiming to assess its impact on the overall costs for the construction company.
