This article presents a case study on the implementation of a telemetry system for water consumption analysis in a university housing facility belonging to the Federal University of Catalão (UFCAT), located in Goiás, Brazil. A real-time remote water metering system was installed with the objective of promoting efficient water resource management in the building. The methodology involved the installation and configuration of digital meters connected to the internet and software to monitor cold and hot water consumption. After initial monitoring, it was possible to identify the residents' consumption profile, as well as detect patterns of waste and leaks. Interventions and maintenance were carried out on the hydraulic systems of apartments that showed high consumption, even during periods of low occupancy, and new monitoring was conducted in a period after maintenance. The post-intervention analysis demonstrated a significant reduction in water consumption, proving the effectiveness of the telemetry system in identifying anomalies and optimizing water resource management. The obtained results highlight the potential of telemetry to support quick decision-making and achieve savings in this type of building.
