This study investigated the residues most frequently studied by Brazilian researchers when incorporated in cement-based composites in order to identify trends and research gaps in this field. The most cited residues in scientific publications from Brazilian institutions between 2001 and 2022 were identified through a bibliometric analysis using the Scopus database. The results showed that the most cited residues were construction and demolition waste, rice husk ashes, glass waste, tire rubber waste, and sugarcane bagasse. There was a significant growth in the number of publications in this field, particularly from 2018 onwards. These findings are important in guiding future research and public policies, as well as driving investments and logistics for reusing these residues. Thus, this study contributes to the sustainable, social, and economic development of the construction industry and, consequently, the country.
