This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of densimetric separation in the production of a highly pozzolanic sugarcane bagasse ash. Initially, a quartz-rich ash was collected in industrial boilers and submitted to wet densimetric separation to remove most of the quartz contaminant by decantation. Then, the potentially pozzolanic ash was subjected to ultrafine grinding. Chemical and mineralogical compositions obtained were appropriate to pozzolanic materials. Electrical conductivity, mechanical performance index and isothermal calorimetry tests confirmed the highly reactive material produced by the proposed method in comparison with the original ash.
