Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate the use of crushed Polypropylene (PP) waste to replace sand in the production of coating mortar, considering its properties in the fresh and hardened state. Therefore, substitutions of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% in volume of the natural residue by the polymeric residue were performed in a 1:3 ratio. Then, the analysis of the properties in the fresh state and hardened state was performed. The results indicated a reduction in consistency (22.83%), compressive strength (26.21%), and density (10.04%). An increase in the content of incorporated air of up to 26.05% was also observed.
