AVALIAÇÃO DO RESÍDUO DE ARENITO COMO AGREGADO MIÚDO EM MATRIZ DE ARGAMASSA

The aim of this work is to evaluate yellow and red sandstone residues as fine aggregate, compared to siliceous river sand. The residues were chemically and mineralogically characterized. The red sandstone fines showed no pozzolanic activity with lime. For evaluation in cementitious mortars, the color of the sandstone (red and yellow) and the treatment of the aggregates (with and without washing) were varied. Both sandstones had similar chemical characteristics, however, it was possible to verify differences in compressive strength. All mortars presented similar values for capillary water absorption and flexural tensile strength.
