PRODUCTION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF RECYCLED COARSE AND FINE AGGREGATES OF CONCRETE BY TWO DIFFERENT COMBINATION PROCESSES
Keywords:
Aggregates, concrete,, comminutionAbstract
Reuse of concrete wastes as an alternative to replace the natural aggregates in part or in whole, by a recycled material that has a superior quality when compared to other types of waste. The understanding of the physical characteristics of the aggregates generated by different comminution processes is an important step towards the best application of the final product. For the production of recycled aggregates, specimens were used that were benefited in two different equipments (Jaw Crusher and Hammer Mill). The understanding of the physical characteristics of the aggregates generated by different comminution processes is an important step towards the best application of the final product. For the production of recycled aggregates, samples were used from two different equipments (Jaw Crusher and Hammer Mill). The following properties of the aggregates were analyzed: size analysis, aggregate shape, water absorption, density, fine material content. Regarding the results it was possible to identify that the way the aggregates are produced cause variation between the results obtained.
