The climate changes and global warming highlight the importance of reducing energy consumption in buildings. Hybrid ventilation, which combines natural ventilation and mechanical systems, can help ensure thermal comfort and decrease energy consumption in certain climates. Therefore, it is important to assess architectural solutions in the design process to reduce energy consumption and enhance building energy efficiency. The objective of this article was to evaluate design alternatives for improving energy consumption in office buildings with hybrid ventilation in the city of Belo Horizonte. Four variables that could impact the building's energy consumption were analyzed: solar orientation, external wall absorptance, glass solar factor, and effective window ventilation area. An archetype of office buildings in Belo Horizonte was used for the analyses. The solutions that presented the lowest values of total building energy consumption, using hybrid ventilation, predominantly had a solar orientation of 225°, an absorptance of 0.2, a low solar factor, and an effective window ventilation area of 40%. These solutions demonstrated an average reduction of 13% in total building energy consumption and 36.4% in air conditioning consumption compared to the reference model's consumption.
