Influência da operação de janelas e de venezianas no desempenho térmico de residências

Interactions between built environment and users take on different forms, through the manipulation of components and occupancy schedules. Occupant behaviour has a direct impact on building thermal performance. Therefore, understanding the user’s influence is crucial to improve user modelling in thermal performance simulation. This paper aims to investigate the effects of occupant behaviour variations, specifically regarding the operation of windows and blinds, on the thermal performance of residential buildings using performance indicators according to NBR 15575 (ABNT, 2021). The research method consisted of computational simulations for a single-family house in Curitiba, Aracaju and Teresina. Six occupant behaviour profiles were established based on variations in the window opening mode and blind operation shown in NBR 15575 for simulation purposes. Maximum and minimum annual operative temperature, percentage of occupied hours within a temperature range (PHFT) and thermal load were the indicators analysed. Distinct occupant profile caused variations in such indicators, such as a difference of 13% in PHFT when considering different window opening criteria. However, in general, indicators were more sensitive to variations in window opening than changes in blind operation mode.
