RUÍDO DE TRÁFEGO NO CENTRO HISTÓRICO DO RIO DE JANEIRO:
A RUA PRIMEIRO DE MARÇO
Keywords:
traffic, historic buildings, computer simulationAbstract
With the international events based in the city of Rio de Janeiro, several changes were made, mainly, in the main traffic routes of the same. These changes affected the entire dynamics of population displacement in the urban center, especially in the year of 2016 with the advent of the VLT (Light Rail Vehicle) and the changes in the bus lines. As a result, the main street in the historic center, the Primeiro de Março Street, was overburdened with vehicular traffic, including heavy ones. This article aims to study the impacts of traffic noise during the day, especially on the facades of the chosen historic buildings. This study was carried out with field surveys and records in conjunction with the Sound Pressure Level (NPS) measurement and the use of computer simulations in Soundplan software for the elaboration of noise maps. The obtained results were confronted with the values allowed by the legislation in force in the urban area to which the studied study belongs. Through this, it was concluded that the emission of traffic noise along the Primeiro de Março Street is above the permitted level, thus necessitating measures to reduce noise pollution.
