The negligent way of building cities has promoted significant space changes. The disjointed treatment between morphology and climate generates adverse situations, and can thus, aggravate the effect of a regional climate that naturally promotes high temperatures in some months of the year. From this perspective, the present work seeks to analytically and descriptively investigate the interference of morphologic elements in the microclimate of a section of the central region of the city of Colatina – ES. Relating this way, the importance of urban planning to obtain pleasant levels of thermal comfort for the population. The methodological procedure involves microclimate simulations of three different scenarios through the software ENVI-met 4.3.2. As a product, the program offers maps regarding temperature, humidity, wind speed and the predicted mean vote of users. After generating the maps, point data were extracted randomly throughout the scenario for further comparative analyses. Therefore, the thermal comfort index of the users were evaluated through the index of thermal discomfort (IDT), the mean vote of users (PMV) and the effective temperature as a fiction of the wind (TEv). For all the analyzed schedules, the first urban scenario, referring to the current morphologic configuration, presented the most critical data. Conversely, the application of the porosity rate allowed the third scenario to present more uniform temperature and pleasant thermal sensations. These results reveal the importance of shading and ventilation for the reduction of urban heat symptoms and the achievement of more pleasant thermal sensations for users.
