Increasingly, urban planning has integrated natural elements into the spaces of the city, including in relation to urban tree-planting in general and tree-planting in avenues, aiming at improving the quality of life in urban environments. However, some situations are in disagreement with this policy, an example is what happens in the city of Maringá (PR), in which some of its avenues maintained the original afforestation, such as Avenida Pedro Taques, while others had trees from their flowerbeds removed to give way to new roadways, as is the case of Avenida Morangueira. The present work had the purpose of evaluating climatic variables, such as temperature and humidity of the air, relating them to the positioning of arboreal individuals in two avenues of the city of Maringá, one with and another without the vegetal grouping, being the Avenues Pedro Taques and Avenida Morangueira, respectively. Later, the thermal sensation of the individuals occupying the place was analyzed in order to understand if they noticed a difference in relation to the thermal comfort in the avenue that had its vegetation removed. The results obtained point to the positive contribution of the tree presence in the microclimate of the evaluated site, and the clear perception of the users regarding this. On the other hand, Avenida Morangueira was damaged by the removal of trees from the central plot. The data found highlight the importance of urban tree planting in the microclimatic conditions of urban centers, which contributes directly to the improvement of urban thermal comfort.
