This paper is concerned with the thermal comfort conditions of Brasil Square, an important public space in the city of Belém, which is characterized by the warm-humid climate of the region. The choice of the square was due to the great flow of people that circulate daily through the place, because it is a space of passage and the daily life of the population, with areas of permanence and leisure. Considering that the quality of life in this place is the result of the type of urban object built for the human experience in an environment with specific climate and morphological characteristics, the general objective of this research was to diagnose how the transformations generated by urbanization influence the microclimate of the square, analyzing from its surroundings, base and surface boundaries to identify the most critical points of the studied area. The urban space was analyzed joining all the elements that constitute it. For that, a theoretical reasoning was built on the urban climate, its concepts, forming elements and conditioning factors. After that, the conditions of the thermal comfort and its models of prediction of sensation of thermal comfort in external spaces were identified. The bioclimatic record was also analyzed in the diagnosis of the thermal comfort of the public space, which aims to identify sites that need changes in environmental comfort. Thus, this research aims to contribute to recommendations and guidelines based on bioclimatic concepts as part of an environmental solution for urban space.
