VARIAÇÃO CLIMÁTICA ENTRE OS MEIOS URBANO E RURAL NO CONTEXTO DE NOVAS OCUPAÇÕES NA AMAZÔNIA LEGAL MATOGROSSENSE

Abstract

The accelerated urbanization process has forced urban areas to expand in a disorganized and exclusionary way, which has transformed the country in its territorial, socioeconomic, cultural and environmental aspects, influencing the balance of the natural climate environment, contributing to the formation of a local climate, the urban climate. In this context, this paper aims to evaluate the climatic differences between the urban and rural environment in the city of Sinop, in the context of Legal Amazon in Mato Grosso. The methodological procedures consist of the climatic evaluation by means of measuring instruments, using two meteorological stations, located in the urban central area and in the rural context. The application of the methodology showed efficient, inexpensive and practical data collection through the use of two sets of compact and robust sensors, organized in fixed stations, making it possible to compare the climatological data of the urban station with the rural station. The results showed that in the dry season the area occupied by dense vegetation is 37.7% and soil exposed is 42.2% and in the rainy season it is 36.7% and 13.8% of the surface of the municipality. In rural areas, the direction of the wind is northeast and in the urban area it is east, with average speeds of 1.67m/s and 0.75m/s, respectively. It is also worth noting the difference of 1°C in the annual average of the temperatures and of around 30% in the accumulated annual rainfall. It is concluded that from this methodology, it is possible to observe the climatic differences between rural and urban environments in the studied context, generating useful analyzes for the more sustainable urban development.
