In the analysis of the thermal comfort of a building, different constructive elements are studied to guarantee the efficiency of the building. In the course of the last few years, different methods have been used to obtain such a characteristic, one of these is the study of solar geometry, through which sun-protection devices can be analyzed and established by means of solar protection. facades of the building in order to prevent / minimize the incidence of direct solar rays. Therefore, the influence of the application of this mechanism on the efficiency of a building is in the need to ensure the necessary adaptation to the constructive guidelines of bioclimatic zone in which it is located. That’s why, the research objectives at the efficiency of the solar protection device in different facades of the State School Professor Maria Edilma de Freitas, in the municipality of Pau dos Ferros, in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. Thus, the date of the protection device and the analysis of the efficiency of its performance in the different façades were carried out through data and analysis surveys. For this purpose, the ZZBR program was used to determine the bioclimatic zone of the municipality and the SOL-Ar software from LabEEE-UFSC to study the solar process, thus verifying one of the main tools of solar protection systems. As a result, all building elements have an efficient shadow shade. Therefore, a research was carried out, a part of the study of solar geometry was affirmed in the analysis of the effectiveness of the protection devices and has implications in the masks of the shade
