Study of housing performance factors based on user perception

Several variables influence the resident's housing satisfaction, an important criterion in quality of life. The objective of this research is to validate a model with the main variables related to the housing performance group based on the individual's perception. Through the application of the Survey method, a sample of 279 participants from the South, Southeast and Midwest regions of the country, all living in their own and/or financed homes, was collected. With data collection, multivariate analyses were applied to validate the model. The results indicated the adequacy of the structure and the reliability of the aspects analyzed with the 28 variables involved in the research. The factors linked to the constructs Housing Size (TH), Perceived Comfort (PC), Privacy and Room Distribution (PD), Aesthetics (ES) and External Area Size (AE), bring reflections in the present study on the main aspects to be observed in the creation of more satisfactory housing for users.
