Abstract

An important factor responsible for comfort is thermal neutrality, defined as the temperature at which a person is likely to be in thermal comfort in the environment in which they find themselves, preferring neither more heat nor colder. The state of Mato Grosso presents great climatic variations, necessitating the definition of neutral temperatures for its bioclimatic zones. The objective of the research was to determine the neutrality temperatures in commercial, public and service buildings artificially cooled in the rainy and dry periods. It was evidenced the need for specific studies in these buildings, once they shelter occupants for long periods and it is known that thermal discomfort directly influences the activities to be performed, leaving the occupant inattentive, increasing the incidences of errors and dispersion. The methodology of this study is based on the measurement and application of questionnaires to the occupants simultaneously. Two cities, Cuiabá e Caceres, representing, respectively, the bioclimatic zones 7 e 8 of the state of Mato Grosso were studied. Thus, the average neutrality temperature found by linear regressions for the bioclimatic zones 7 and 8, considering the measurements performed in the rainy and dry seasons, was 24,70 ° C.
