Abstract

This article is intended for teachers, students and architects interested in expanding their technical and academic repertory about free digital platforms for simulation and development of basis for projects oriented by climate. The purpose of this work, therefore, is to collect bibliography appointments, evidencing and contexting different systems available for research and teaching of climate and environmental comfort on buildings and open spaces. For that, bibliographic researches were done to indicate the main climate variables and design guidelines taken in consideration in projects of architecture and urbanism which were, afterwards, crossed with the most popular digital systems that are available on internet, lastly, synthesis graphics were developed to show and discuss the results. It is believed that this article will contribute to disseminate and magnify the knowledge about environmental comfort, helping and supporting the teaching process from the application of these digital instruments for improving thermal performances in building and open space, in order to favor the sustainable development and quality of life by users.
