It is commonly known that physiological characteristics alter sensitivities and thermal perception. Based on this prerogative, researchers evaluate thermal environments from the point of view of the elderly, in order to discover its peculiarities. This article aims to analyze the perception and thermal preferences of elderly people in similar housing units in three cities with differing climates in the state of Paraíba. In a structured interview, we collected the opinions of Ciudad Madura condominium residents, in the cities of João Pessoa, Campina Grande, and Cajazeiras concerning their thermal environments. A sample of 90 interviews, collected between the months of January and February of the year 2019, was manipulated using Excel e RStudio. It was observed that the thermal sensation inside the residences was different by city, tending towards neutrality in the coastal city and towards hot in the hot and dry locales. Ventilation was an influential variable for thermal sensation. Yet to the contrary, the correlation tests detected that the longer the windows were open, the greater the tendency of the building to be considered poorly ventilated; which might influenced by window orientation. It was also observed that the main reason for closing the window frames is insects, and that the bedrooms are considered the hottest spaces in the house, while the living rooms are the most pleasant.
