A INFLUÊNCIA DA POROSIDADE DAS PORTAS INTERNAS NO DESEMPENHO DA VENTILAÇÃO NATURAL EM EDIFICAÇÕES RESIDENCIAIS MULTIFAMILIARES

Natural ventilation is one of the main phenomena that affect the sensation of thermal comfort in regions of tropical climate. However, the efficiency in the use of this strategy depends, among other factors, on the configuration of its openings and consequently its porosity. The internal doors are often the only air outlet vents in the rooms, even though they remain closed for privacy reasons. For this reason, the objective of this work was to analyze the influence of the porosity of the internal doors in the performance of the natural ventilation in multifamily residential buildings. For this, parametric analyzes were performed through computational simulations with the PHOENICS VR 3.6.1 software, which is a CFD - Computational Fluid Dynamics program. A representative model of a multifamily residential building was chosen which allowed the simulation of several variables that influence natural ventilation performance. This model was adapted with different configurations of openings by varying the internal doors porosity and the orientation in relation to external winds. In general, the models with greater opening area and greater door porosity obtained greater results of internal air speed. Models with the wind incident to 135 ° had a more uniform distribution between the apartments. Results showed the strong influence of openings design, internal doors porosity and building orientation to prevailing winds in natural ventilation performance.
