Abstract

It is observed an appreciation of bioclimatic architecture in the search for energy efficiency of buildings and the greater level of comfort for users, combining the knowledge about technological solutions and climate, adopting the maximum of an architecture for each site that contrasts with the practice of the real estate market, producer of housing buildings in a pattern of few variations. In this research, the objective was to analyze if an example of this model meets the bioclimatic principles and how it is possible to integrate diverse interests. In this way, the climate and the immediate surroundings of the object of study were characterized, relating them to the energy efficiency guidelines that promote comfort to the user, combined with the collection of values related to air temperature and relative humidity in six rooms of a floor type of a residential building, located in the district of Madalena, Recife-PE. The first stage analyzed the thermohygrometric behavior of two dormitories, living room and kitchen of apartment 1001 and the second stage compared the behavior of the living room and kitchen with the respective environments of the adjacent apartment, taking as reference the data from the automatic station of the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET), evaluating whether the bioclimatic strategies were followed and whether comfort was achieved. The data generated revealed lower temperature and higher humidity in the apartment’s 1002 spaces, which receive the prevailing winds of the east and the south, generating better conditions for the spaces of stay to the east. It is then confirmed the effects of winds and shade in the promotion of environmental comfort, in hot and humid tropical climate.
