PROPORCIÓN ÓPTIMA DE SUPERFICIES VERDES PARA PLAZAS URBANAS EN ZONAS ÁRIDAS “EL CASO DE MENDOZA- ARGENTINA”.
Keywords:
Urban squares, relationship woodlot / sealed, efficient proportionAbstract
This work aims to evaluate different proportions of woodlot areas in relation to sealed areas for urban squares in the city of Mendoza - Argentina. With the purpose to reduce urban temperatures and improve the habitability of space. For this analysis seven scenarios were simulated with the ENVI-met software that allowed determining: air temperature, mean radiant temperature and wind speed. These data were analyzed comparatively with a real case called "base case". The results obtained show that the right proportion of woodland areas must be greater than or equal to 60% and as this percentage increases (70%, 80% and 100%) the thermal behavior of the square is improved. However, for the study area, located in an arid zone, the hydric restrictions must be taken into account when selecting the scenarios that combine the best thermal behavior and the minimum water consumption. In this context, it is reasonable to propose that 60% of the areas of trees / 40% of the sealed areas is the one that shows greater efficiency taking into account that it allows improving the habitability conditions and enhancing the effects of these green areas as attenuators of the local climatic conditions.
