This paper was carried out in order to understand the influence of use of thermal insulation and air changes in a naturally ventilated residence in parameters that can generate growth of Aspergillus fungi. Simulations were carried out in EnergyPlus software version 8.8. In order to satisfy the objective, simulations were carried out by varying use of thermal insulation in external facades between three possibilities, being they insulation on internal side of walls, thermal insulation on external side of walls and without the use of thermal insulation. The opening of windows was used for daytime period, using two different conditioners, being open by temperature difference and fixed by time, or opening fixed by time independent of temperature. As a model, a single-family residence was adopted, alternating the proposed constructive and ventilation parameters. It was compared performance between proposed ventilation and constructive systems. It was observed that when the window opening is set independently of temperature, a lower occurrence of the long duration conditions satisfaction is observed, besides reducing the difference in performance between the systems.
