The national matrix has undergone changes in recent years, indicating the high consumption rates. Thus, there is also an increase with environmental concern to reduce the impacts generated. In this way, energy systems diversify, seeking renewable sources, such as photovoltaic solar energy. Based on this, the study assesses the potential of integrating photovoltaic (PV) systems in buildings of the university city of UFMS, seeking to meet 1MWp of campus energy demand, without architectural changes in them. During three stages of development, data collection, analyzes of the integrations between PV systems and buildings and simulations of the performance of each system were carried out successively. Electricity consumption is divided into 5 consuming units within the four sectors of the university, sector 1 accounting for 61% of total consumption. As a consequence, 8 buildings were selected of sector 1 to perform the simulations. The simulations generated an annual electricity of 1,611,216 kWh / year. Thus, the systems installed in the UFMS presented good performance, with the capacity to generate all the energy consumed with a system of just over 4MWp.
