Abstract

This present article brings an approach about the energy auditing in public buildings through software simulations in order to obtain the Procel Buildings Label. This certification can only be obtained achieving an A classification after complete evaluation (envelope, lighting and air conditioning) of the PBE Edifica Label for constructed buildings. This label demonstrates the energy performance of the building and ranks it into more efficient (A) to less efficient (E) categories. This work verifies the energy situation of an edification inside the UFRGS health campus, the Pharmacy Faculty building, located in Porto Alegre. The methodologies applied, following the RTQ-C, are the prescriptive and by simulation. In the simulation analysis is used the EnergyPlus software that achieve the annual final consumption of the building. The edification presents the C classification on the PBE label using both methods. Alterations are done in the lighting using LED lamps, use of glass film, pant the wall with lighter paint and the air conditioning system modernization. The option that obtains the more expressive result in the energy saving is the change for LED lamps, pant the wall with lighter paint and using of glass film. This result is 20% of annual consumption reduction. The best economic analysis is the installation of of glass film, with NPV of R$ 720.973,87, IRR in 25%, and investment return in 4 years and 8 months.
