Keywords:
artificial illumination, public illumination, illuminance, NBR-5101/2012Abstract
This article, based on the Norma Brasileira Regulamentadora (NBR) 5101/2012 pretends to do a quantitative analysis of the illumination in João Pessoa seafront, which had its metal vapour lamps changed for LED luminaires. This delimitation was made studying the road profile and chosen this way, two neighborhoods, Tambaú and Manaíra. The spacing between poles were measured and the most frequent distance was chosen to be studied. For the step of measuring the illuminances, was utilized a luximeter in the spots defined by the standard. All the spots had had illuminance and uniformity illuminance above required in the NBR 5101/2012 except on the pedestrian crossing in Manaíra, where it had had incompatibilities between the light and the existing vegetation. Concluding there for that the system is oversized and despite the economy made, it could have been even bigger with a project following the Brazilian standard.
