INFLUÊNCIA DA ARBORIZAÇÃO NO DESEMPENHO AMBIENTAL DA QUADRA 207 SUL – ARSO 23 - EM PALMAS - TO

Abstract

Afforestation affects positive and directly urban environments; such influence has been widely addressed in studies and projects around the world. Simultaneously, constant and intense increase in urbanization has brought up all sorts of conflicts due to inadequate urban planning. This study aims to highlight the importance and impact of green areas, at 207 Sul (ARSO 23) square, an urban environment in Palmas, using a GIS - Geographic Information System software to analyze and map the area. The Available satellites were evaluated, among them CBERS-4, SENTINEL-3 and LANDSAT 8, to choose a suitable one according to the research preset needs. LANDSAT-8 was considered most fit to proceed with, focusing on analyzing Bands 4, 5 and 10 images and inserting them in the ArcMap software. Generated maps allowed a comparative analysis and study of values obtained from the temperature and NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) at the square with other built-up and paved areas in the city. The result is a contribution with studies and guidelines of GIS software, in order to encourage more efficient urban planning and better land use by cities.
